Russell Darling recently organised a photoshoot representing the characters in the short film titled Doorbells and Gunshots. This was written/directed by and stars actor Michael Hanratty. Russell used the LC-A 120 and LC-Wide to capture these mood shots.
These photos represent the characters in the short film "Doorbells and Gunshots". One character, Harvey, lives an opulant lifestyle. His environment is the posh flat and park. The other character is Matty, who comes from a rougher background. Many of these photos take place in Matty's world, as that's how the film plays out. I wanted the photos to reflect this, but also have some juxtaposition of placing Matty and Harvey in each other's worlds for a few shots.
Russell Darling tested out the Lomo'Instant Square camera on his two actor friends Michael Hanratty and Hector Moss. He took inspiration from 1970’s instant photos shot by Andy Warhol, and created a series of characters and ambiguous situations for the camera.
