Lomography Gallery Store LA celebrates it’s very first Pride in their new hood of West Hollywood!
The Lomography Gallery Store LA knew it was something special to be directly on the parade route for the 40th year of LA Pride… but not in our wildest dreams could have have expected what we encountered! An estimated 400,000 people hit the streets in joyous, free, fashion-statement glory for two straight days and we saw it all:
Leather, drag queens, rainbows, fishnets, banana hammocks, glitter, feathers, bare chests, sumo wrestling, protests, counter-protests, some of the most amazing hair-dos ever, and most important… Love.
Our two Pride workshops were some of the most fun! Lightpainting on Saturday night brought about our greatest results yet thanks to a 6 man masterpiece involving the United State Postal Service and two one-of-a-kind light streaked and color splashed group portraits! Definitely something to be proud about : )
Sunday morning we were early to rise for a 10 am Analogue Love workshop complete with the all too important coffee and mimosas. Afterward, everyone picked out their favorite Lomography camera and we hit the streets for the parade! Floats could be seen for blocks up and down Santa Monica and Crescent Heights boulevards… the streets were ours! The brand new Spinner 360 was certainly put to use and gives us a complete view deep in the heart of West Hollywood.
AS IF THAT WEREN’T ENOUGH… Lomography Gallery Store LA Employees Satomi and Amanda made their way to the LA Pride Festival grounds with their trusty LC-A+'s and Diana Mini to capture even more of the weekend’s celebrations! See yourself in one of these galleries and you can come by to pick up a FREE PRINT! Let us know which day and which number… we’ll do the rest : )
