The Analogue Reveries of Adi Putra
23 Share Tweet“Painting with light” — a poetic way to describe the work of a photographer.
Artistic transcendence does not bless all men behind cameras, though LA-based film shooter Adi Putra easily flows and surpasses the rules of reality to create images of photographic fantasy.

The sense of sight and vastness of the mind keep several secrets unbeknownst even to the beholder. Adi Putra’s strength relies on his quirky yet romantic play with colors and composition.
As an analogue camera user, Putra’s photographs marry the spontaneity of film and his conscientious aesthetics. His Lomo LC-A+ proves much of his photography skills and visualization.

Primarily a photographer for independent musicians — such as Canadian synthpop artist Grimes — Putra eventually grew and developed his own vision; a style of his that only strengthened the appeal of his photography.
Colors play a significant role in Putra’s photographic signature. Though mostly in lo-fi pastel, the sharpness and contrast of his images retain their vividness — warm and cool at the same time.
