Hi Yusaku, nice to see you here at Lomography!
Me too!
When and why did you start photography?
5 years ago, I just got a job offer from a company and I was in between being a student and entering this society’s work-force. I had a lot of time to spare and decided to start shooting photos.
What is your most favorite camera?
I’m madly in love with my Mamiya RZ67.
Most of your works were taken with films.
Oh, yeah. My heart never stops beating until the processing ends. Love this kind of thrill.
What is your first impression of the New Petzval 85 Art lens?
Oh god it’s a manual lens… manual again ;)
Do you have any favorite lens?
The New Petzval 85 Art Lens has definitely become one of my favorites, for sure.
Why do you like this lens?
I’m not really good at focusing the subject, but by using this lens, I enjoyed the unfocused shots also because the bokeh effect was really unique. Digital cameras usually create flat or fake images, but I wanted to make it more real & rough. This lens let me experience with the soft focused images and gratified my desire.
Now, please tell me about this shooting. Where did you shoot?
Downtown called Ueno, in front of Don Quijote (discount shop) in Shinjuku, and Music Festival called taico club .
What was the theme you had in your mind?
A night out.
Women in your photographs are attractive. Do you prefer shooting women?
Most definitely yes. I’m a guy!
