Potomac Celtic Festival

It’s been years since I frequented the Potomac Celtic Festival. It used to be a yearly event for my family – way back when it was held at Oatlands Plantation. It’s since moved to the fields of Morvan Park. Still in Leesburg, but on the North side rather than the South.

The festival has fantastic vendors, mostly with goods from Scottish and Irish heritage, food, a pub tent, and more men in skirts than a woman could ever dream of! The event kicks off with a clan parade, bagpipes and battle cries included. Their historical interpreters are fantastic, full of information with very authentic costumes.

A wee bit hot, always held in June, but definitely worth it. I’m hoping that they’ll revive the Scottish games next year. That makes it even more worth it.
