Adaptalux, which is currently seeking funding for production on Kickstarter, is a portable “patent pending adaptable miniature lighting studio” that aims to make macro photography and videography and product photography easy and accessible to all photographers.
Every once in a while we stumble upon highly innovative photography-related projects on popular crowdsourcing platform Kickstarter, and this time around, we shine the spotlight on Adaptalux. Produced by London-based Adaptalux Ltd., Adaptalux is, as described in a press release, “an adaptable, miniature portable lighting studio designed for macro photography, macro videography and product photography,” which gives full creative control to the user. It promises to make macro photography and videography and product photography accessible and effortless to any and all photographers, as well as to deliver “fantastically unique macro photographs that stand out from the crowd.”
Adaptalux has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support and is divided into three parts, namely the Control Pod, the Lighting Arms that are to be attached to the Pod, and Effect Components such as diffusers and color filters that “expand the lighting capabilities” of the product. Additionally, there are also a backdrop setter, stabilizer, and other upcoming products and features.
As of this writing, £69,735 has already been pledged of the £100,000 goal with 11 days left. Head over to Adaptalux's Kickstarter page for complete technical and other related information and, if you wish, back the project.
