The future of Rolleiflex becomes uncertain at this point as DHW Fototechnik, current manufacturer of the iconic brand of cameras, is set to hold a bankruptcy auction of the Rolleiflex factory next month.
More than a thousand items from the Rolleiflex factory in Germany, from the machines and other equipment used to build cameras down to cameras and various office furniture, are to be sold off at a bankruptcy auction in April, Bellamy Hunt of Japan Camera Hunter reported last week. The Braunschweig, Germany-based company DHW Fototechnik had been manufacturing the Rolleiflex cameras.
Auction service Proventura provides a complete online catalog of the items in German, which may be viewed here. From what we have gathered, the auction will be held from April 20 until 30.
