BIG NEWS: We’ve done a proper overhaul of how you browse photos on the Lomography site. We’re pretty proud of the result and we hope you like it too! Check out the breakdown of the new features.
For the next site, we wanted to let your fantastic photos do the talking and set this as one of our
biggest challenges in redesigning the Photo Section and Homes. Head over to the photo section and see for yourself.
Pagination and Sorting
While looking at our previous sorting mechanism, we felt that there was something missing. Once a photo has many likes and comments it will stay on top forever, but since we are always curious to see great new photos, we knew what we had to do. So we have introduced a new sorting system that is a combination of time and popularity: recent photos that were liked a lot, the trending photos.
“Should Look Good Anywhere " Approach
Maybe you already tried resizing the browser. Or you are on a mobile or tablet device right now. Regardless of where you’re viewing it, the site should look fine in all sizes – we made it fully responsive. If you have any problems displaying the site please leave a comment with your device brand and model.
We tweaked our search to make looking for your favorite photos a lot easier and faster. You will now get the overall results for each search on the very top, but also a detailed breakdown of your results in tags, cameras, films, countries, cites and users.
Liking and Commenting
Comments and likes are working just as before. But did you ever do an accidental like? We’ve done it at one point or another, and now there is a grace period for taking the like back. So please browse the photos, comment and like what you find interesting or try it right away with this article.
A quick and simple way to navigate through the photo section is via our keyboard hot buttons. Press left or right to for the previous or next photo and simply “L” to spread some lomolove and like them. You can use the arrow keys anywhere you see a pagination.
How do you like it so far?
