Please tell us more about yourself.
Hi, my name is Radka and I live in Prague. I work in the event management of a small local company. We organize different kinds of events, from workshops for kids to company gatherings. I do love art and all creative activities, which includes photography. During my free time, I enjoy painting as well. Also, I play basketball even though I’m just 160cm in height.
When was your first try of a Lomography camera or film? What product was it?
I first used a Lomography camera at the beginning of August this year and it was my beloved Diana F+. I bought her on August 8 to be exact. I remember how excited I was. I wanted to try her immediately which I did. I was already looking at her for a few months before I decided to buy her.
Was the Lomography product yours or did you borrow it from a relative or friend?
How was the experience? Any funny or strange occurrences?
It was awesome and so much fun! One of the best things about her is that she makes people smile. They see her in your hands and that’s it, you can shoot whatever you want. Diana opens doors for you.
A funny story happened on the first day I used my Diana. I took a picture of my friend and she thought it was a digital camera. Her first reaction was “Let me see the picture.”
Have you used that Lomography product again? Why or why not?
I have and I will. I have so much to learn and Diana is perfect for experimenting too. I’m thinking about making my own filters and masks and I am really looking forward to doing that. You’ll never know what the outcome will be with the Diana F+ which makes using her super exciting and fun.
Can you share us your favorite or most memorable shot from that First Lomo Affair of yours? Why is this your favorite?
I think this photo is the best one from my first roll and the best double exposure I have ever made so far. It is a picture of my sister menrea in the fields at dusk.
How did it affect your love for Lomography/film photography?
Diana makes me want to learn and experiment more. She makes me want to take more pictures.
Thank you smolda for sharing your First Lomo Affair!
