Birmingham airport or any airport for that matter is a great place for
lomography. I was delayed for a couple of hours after the focus on imaging
show but luckily I had my Lomo LC-A and camera phone to hand. It is a
perfect place for photographing people as they wait to be called to board.
People tend to be oblivious to what you are doing as they are usually
pre-occupied with their crosswords, heat magazines and really expensive
coffee.

The boarding gates are great places for shots, as there are quite large
hallways where you can catch people looking out of the windows at the planes and people at work. There are some excellent vehicles outside and some really cool graphical lines painted on the ground. I was lucky enough to capture a bunch of workers on their way to whatever they were going to do.

On the plane is another great place for some photo opportunities. My shot
was from the back of the plane, which is quite disconcerting being I was so
close to the front!

"The overarching theme is seeing people in adverse conditions take matters into their own hands and still find the energy to go dancing or fall in love or create art," Astronautalis said of his new album. We found that pretty inspiring, so we teamed up with him for a Rumble competition based on that idea.

    LomoLocations: Beijing, China

Beijing is a ready-made template for panoramic shots. Tourist baits like The Great Wall, Forbidden City and Summer Palace stretch for miles. Those who walk from end to end will have more to say. For instance, that the ground goes on to infinity. Or that they have never been so tired and amazed all at once.

With that, we are truly grateful for the effort that these lomographers put into making these LomoKino movies.

And for lomographers, nothing beats the feeling of having that story unfold in your hand, in the form of a print. Vintage Gallery: Headpieces from Around the World

A hat is in the position to be noticed before any other item of clothing. Its shape and texture can immediately call to mind cultural associations. A cloche is to 1920s fashion as a picture hat is to the 1900s. The wide-brimmed or fur-lined variety, on the other hand, is more functional for tribes.

Janne Parviainen is a 35-year-old artist from Helsinki, Finland. He is both a painter and a photographer but sometimes, he swaps his painting tools for light and creates illuminated pieces of art. Abandoned places are his favorite places for shoots because, according to him, "there's so much lived life and stories in abandoned places, they are the lost diaries and photos turned to dust of lives that once bloomed."
