Weapon of Choice: Lomo LC-A+ Russia Day

Tell us something about yourself.

I’m an analogue photography enthusiast, videomaker, and visual artist. I am also a DJ.

Why is the Lomo LC-A+ Russia Day your Weapon of Choice?

I like the character of its lens because it gives me the right contrast and color. I like this camera for its easy mx feature and its compact design that allows me to take fast candid photograph every time. I want to record the moment without changing the meaning of the subject. Sometimes, I attach the LC-A+ Wide Angle Lens to make a wonderful portrait with magnificent bokeh. Of course, I also use the mighty LC-A+ Splitzer!

Any memorable experiences you’ve had while using this camera?

I bought this cool, and crazy cult classic camera in 2012. I have an ambition to collect the entire LC-A family especially the Russian series. When Lomography announced that they going to sell this edition with an exclusive box, a special Russia Day camera strap, and a Russia Day emblem, I just said “wow.” At that moment, I knew that this camera will be extremely limited so I must have it soon!

I got this camera from my friend Teguh, the president of Lomonesia. I was so happy after I saw the result from my first roll with this camera. The results are different from other LC-A cameras that I have. Also, I have won many competitions with this camera!

When using the Horizon Perfekt, what are you favorite subjects to photograph and why?

I love to take emotional portraits of my friends, silhouette, trees, and mx shots. Its lens produces nice contrast and sharp focus so you can make a beautiful portrait.

Would you recommend the Lomo LC-A+ Russia Day to other Lomographers? If yes, to whom do you have in mind?

I would recommend this magnificent camera to all street photographers and everyone who loves to take portraits. This camera has a nice lens that shows all details with its sharp focus.

Any tips or tricks with using this camera?

Always pay attention to your focusing zone to achieve a sharp focus!
