September is almost here and we are determined to make the most of the summer while it hasn’t ended. This coming month we have two LC-A+ workshops, a Sprocket Rocket workshop at the London Analogue Festival,and a Make your Own Camera Obscura Workshop.
Monday – Friday 1st – 5th & 8th – 12th September between 1-2pm: Weekdays with the Petzval Lens
We have officially launched the Petzval lens and know that many of you want to get the chance to test out the lens and see the beautiful effects first hand. We now offer the opportunity to spend one hour with the brass beauty, a one-on-one chat with our staff, and to explore the lens on your own around the streets of Carnaby with your own Nikon or Canon film or digital SLR camera.
Tickets are £20 each but will be refunded if you decide to purchase the lens. Please book in advance via 02074341466 to secure your slot as we only take one person per day. Please also bring a valid Passport (no other identification will be accepted) to leave with us whilst the lens is on loan.
Saturday 6th September from 12pm @ The Loading Bay, Truman Brewery: Street Photography with the LC-A+
Street photography encompasses many styles and the streets of London provide a source of inspiration whether your style is artistic, documentary, commercial or you just want to have fun! This workshop shows you how to make the most of your surroundings. It also covers the philosophy of ‘street’ photography, how to approach subjects, and how to make the most of your LC-A+. Take it to the streets get down low, and use different perspectives! This workshop is part of the Analogue Documentation Show.
This workshop is free but booking is essential as slots are limited to 8 participants! You will get a lend-a-camera LCA+ and a roll of colour film. Film can be brought to our Soho store for discounted processing. Meeting place is at The Loading Bay, Old Truman Brewery, East London. Look for Jo from Lomography.
Thursday 11th September from 5:30pm: GQ Shopping Night Spinner Workshop
We’ll kick off the annual GQ shopping night with a workshop on the Spinner 360 camera! Enjoy this unique camera that uses film and spins out to shoot 360 degree images. Yes, you heard right…full panoramic goodness with one tug of the camera cord. It’s the perfect way to capture all the sights and sounds whilst shopping in and around Carnaby Street. We’ll give you the low down on the camera and you get to borrow it to shoot during the night and throughout the weekend. A roll of film is on us!

Saturday 13th September from 1pm @ OXO Tower: Sprocket Rocket Workshop for the London Analogue Festival
The Sprocket Rocket Camera is a real gem of the Lomography family. Effortless multiple exposures & sprocket-filled panoramas, all created on easy to load, easy to shoot 35mm film. We will take you around the Southbank and help you get the most of this panoramic beauty.
This workshop is free to attend but MUST be booked in advance. Just ring 02074341466 to book a space. This workshop includes a presentation, lend-a-camera, and a free roll of film. Bring your roll into the Soho Store for discounts on processing. Workshop starts at the OXO Tower, Southbank. Look out for the LDN Analogue Festival signs.
Lomography Petzval Exhibition
We’re showcasing the work of UK photographers Tom Sheehan, Emma Case and James Nader as well as a host of photographs taken all over the globe from New York to Japan. Also featured are the five selected images from the Petzval Apprentice Program. All images were shot on the Lomography Petzval lens.
Exhibition runs until the 19th of September
Sunday 21st September from 1pm – Make your very own Camera Obscura!
Learn how to make your own portable camera obscura. Take a trip back through the camera’s history, and learn about the scientific connections from the birth of photography. Take away your very own mini camera obscura, learn about the connections between art history, science and photography! Have some DIY fun.
Tickets are £5 each and include all the materials to make your own camera! Please book in advance as we only have limited slots available.
