The Petzval Apprentice Winner Announcement

2014-08-06 6

Last month, we launched the very first photo competition to honor the phenomenal New Petzval Lens. With over 300 submissions, choosing the very best ones was certainly a challenge! Are you ready to see who made the cut?

The Petzval Apprentice Competition is the first contest dedicated to the Petzval Lens. The rules were pretty simple: all photos taken with the New Petzval Lens are eligible for submission, and it is open to everyone from across the globe.

Our esteemed panel of judges, including Geoffrey Berliner, a Petzval Collector and the Executive Director of the Penumbra Foundation and the Center of Alternative Photography in New York City, sorted through the entries for the top 5 winning photos.

Roll out the red carpet as we present the winners, in no particular order:

Congratulations to all the winners!

We would like to thank everyone who participated in this competition. Stay tuned for more exciting photo competitions happening soon!

same as @patx_ ... I'm quite disappointed, especially with all great analog photos on the community!! @sandravo should have been in this winner list!! :-(

Congrats to the winners, however... I agree with both @patx and @sweetyyydreams .... I'm diappointed that the winning photos where not film, but digital.

Thank you @sweetyyydreams, I appreciate your support. Not sure if I should have been in this list, but some film shots sure would have been great. Guess the future isn't as analogue is we had hoped.
