The Daily Hex: Zest

2014-06-12

I bet you’ll definitely feel energized after a quick look at today’s The Daily Hex!

What’s a ‘hex’ anyway?

Hex actually pertains to hex values, which are 6-digit hexidecimal numbers that are primarily used in web design. Your photographs can be viewed by hex values and we have almost 1,500 common colors that you can browse through, most of which have names that are quirky, goofy, and downright weird. But don’t be fooled, these colors are real eye candies, too!

Redscale film is truly a wonderful emulsion to work with because of its ability to produce unexpected shades of red, orange, and yellow. The energizing and lively orange Zest is one of those colors you might want to achieve in your redscale snapshot. I love that it does not overpower the whole photograph and for me, it gives just the right redscale zing that is not too red and loud but not too yellow and washed-out.
