Zahir Batin Episode I : a Photography Exhibition of Miniature Star Wars Adventures

2014-06-12 1

Zahir Batin, a Malaysian photographer combines photography with miniature figures to reinterpret Star Wars in his own way. His work features cleverly-placed figurines of Stormtroopers, battle droids, R2-D2, and many Star Wars characters that we are familiar with, changing the concepts of the Star Wars universe.

Zahir arranges various miniature toys and figures into creative scenes and shoots them close-up to make them seem like actors in his own personal Star Wars-themed adventure. Some of them are humorous, but many do a good job of creating drama, suspense and emotion. Who would have thought that R2-D2 would bump into a little chick? Zahir stretches his imagination to create amazing scenes that you wish
would happen in Star Wars for real.

What’s also great is that Zahir shares the behind-the-scenes work on his Facebook page. And since he shares his techniquesyou can create your very own dramatic scenes with some photography experience. He use things that you can grab at home, some strings, wires and twigs to position his characters, and uses image manipulation software to remove these aids from his final product.
