For today’s awesome album, let’s take a break from the bright colors and psychedelic hues of the previous installments and flip through photos of relaxing pastel-hued landscapes instead!
While we are all certainly smitten with the bright, colorful, and often surreal photos taken using various slide films then cross-processed, many of us are also equally enamored with photos in muted hues and natural colors. Case in point is the awesome album of simple yet calming photos of pastel landscapes below, taken by our fellow lomographer vici using her Mamiya 645 loaded with Fuji Provia 100F processed in E6. Slide films, when processed in E6 chemicals — the chemicals especially made for them and turns them into positives/slides instead of negatives — do not have the color shift we see with cross-processing, but still retain the contrast. However, when overexposed, they can instead produce photos with pleasantly muted hues, like the lovely snaps below:
The Awesome Albums series is exactly what it says on the tin — it’s a love letter of sorts from the Editors addressed to user-uploaded albums that had caught their eye and had inadvertently fallen in love with. Please understand though, they’re really just here to express their love and nothing more.
