Haven’t tried shooting landscapes in black and white yet? Today’s awesome album will surely inspire and make you want to give it a shot!
If, like us, you’ve been following the updates of our fellow lomographer grazie, you must have already seen her latest album, the wanderlust-inducing one entitled “The world lies waiting.” Much like her marvelous monochrome set that we put on spotlight last year, we love how she was able to capture the textures, patterns, and natural beauty of Death Valley in Eastern California.
Looking at her awesome album, we’re also reminded of Ansel Adams’ iconic black and white photos of the American landscape, especially since we learned that he also took a handful of snaps in Death Valley. If he were to see the photos below, taken using a Hasselblad 501 CM loaded with Fuji Neopan Acros 100 (120), we’re sure he’d also be impressed!
Great job as always, grazie!
The Awesome Albums series is exactly what it says on the tin — it’s a love letter of sorts from the Editors addressed to user-uploaded albums that had caught their eye and had inadvertently fallen in love with. Please understand though, they’re really just here to express their love and nothing more.

Colors may be amped to look unreal, like nothing of this world. Shots may be doubled, cross-processed, post-processed, mixed up into collages. The possibilities are infinite, yet some photographers still prefer black and white. Even in 2016, it is an ode to classic values of precision and balance. Light and shadow must be one pleasing dance. And just like in a well-choreographed piece, forms are obvious or playing coy. It all depends on how you're looking.
We had a huge response to the Lomography x Life competition and the Black and White theme showed off what great photographers you all are. It was a tough decision to make but we've finally chosen the winners. Will it be you?

You’ve read it right: you are the FIRST ones to enjoy this new visual adventure straight from their latest album titled 'The Waiting Room.'
