Awesome Albums: Melting Faces by earlybird

If portraiture is something you’re interested in, we’re sure you’ll find the photos you’re about to flip through nothing short of inspiring and impressive!

We all dabble in portraiture once in a while and do some portrait projects every now and then, but maybe not a lot of us have thought about the brilliant idea behind the awesome album below by earlybird.

Aptly entitled “Melting Faces”, our fellow lomographer from Verl, Germany made impressive use of double exposure and a Kiev 88 loaded with Lomography Earl Grey 100 120 to “melt” together the faces of his two subjects. Mother and daughter, boyfriend and girlfriend, father and son are fused together to create interesting portraits that show similarities, differences, and surreal characters.

We find this album simply mind-blowing and very well-done! What about you, what do you think?

The Awesome Albums series is exactly what it says on the tin — it’s a love letter of sorts from the Editors addressed to user-uploaded albums that had caught their eye and had inadvertently fallen in love with. Please understand though, they’re really just here to express their love and nothing more.

@earlybird told me how he took these pictures - really genial but "simple" technique (and 100% analogue!) wonderful work indeed!
