Snippets and Vignettes: Physics and math-inspired animated GIFs by Hugo Germain

Every week we try to bring you a new series of cool GIFs to gaze yoru eyes upon. For this week, we give you Hugo Germain and his interesting way of reinterpreting reality through physics.

*Hugo Germain* is just like any other ordinary engineering student having lessons in math and physics to earn his degree. However, this is not entirely true when you look at his animated GIFs. Not only does Germain create looping images, he does so with creativity and detailed calculation.

Since most of his courses are geared towards science and calculations, Germain’s GIFs are very reminiscent of physical phenomena applied to an alternate world. From floating letters from a piece of paper to an illusion of a pen creating streaks of color as it is being waved, his animated pieces are case studies in what could have been in an alternate reality.

Germain’s creative play on simple physical phenomena makes for cool viewing. And to think that all the while we thought that we were alone in having a crazy imagination.
