If you’ve never been to Havana, the capital city, major port, and leading commercial center of Cuba, we’re sure you’ll make it one of your must-visit destinations after flipping through sandravo’s beautiful and awesome album!
Our favorite awesome album for today is a delightful series of travel photos taken by our fellow lomographer sandravo from Belgium during her trip to Havana, Cuba in 2005. While it has only been a good five years since the photos were taken, the photos have this olden look and feel, which may make viewers think that sandravo must have stepped some decades back in time. However, we later found out that the retro-looking snaps were taken in Old Havana (Havana Vieja), the center of the original city of Havana, established by the Spanish in 1519. Our fellow lomographer couldn’t have picked a better film to load in her Canon EOS 50 than the Ilford FP4+ 125, to lend a sepia tone that complements the old world charm of the city’s famous historical district.
For those of us who haven’t been to this charming old town in Cuba, we’re sure the beautiful photos above secured a spot for Havana on our list of must-visit destinations!
The Awesome Albums series is exactly what it says on the tin — it’s a love letter of sorts from the Editors addressed to user-uploaded albums that had caught their eye and had inadvertently fallen in love with. Please understand though, they’re really just here to express their love and nothing more.
