For the first time in the brief history of the Awesome Albums series, we put the spotlight on not one, not even two, but three impressive albums by a fellow lomographer! If you haven’t been to Venice, Italy to see and experience their famed Carnival, we’re sure the beautiful photos you’ll find after the jump will make you think about what you’ve been missing!

Venice in Italy is one of the festive spots we encourage everyone to explore this month for its world-famous Carnival, but if you didn’t get to catch the visually-compelling festival, we have just the awesome albums for you! Yes, today’s installment puts the spotlight on three albums of postcard-worthy snaps that will make the ardent traveler and reveler in you drool!

Taken using a Lubitel 166 and a variety of films, the photos snapped by our fellow lomographer lanzo78 from Ferrara, Italy shows the elaborate and stunning masks and costumes that the Carnival has come to be known for. Of course, since Venice is also quite the picturesque city, our fellow lomographer made sure to include some of its famous sights in his shots. No wonder photographers around the world have this spectacular festival on their must-visit and must-photograph list, don’t you agree?

The Awesome Albums series is exactly what it says on the tin — it’s a love letter of sorts from the Editors addressed to user-uploaded albums that had caught their eye and had inadvertently fallen in love with. Please understand though, they’re really just here to express their love and nothing more.
