The Volksgarten in Düsseldorf is part of the Südpark, which is with 70 ha the biggest park in Düsseldorf. The most impressive art sculptures are the Zeitpark, which was build for garden show in 1987, and the big colourful monsters (dragons?) which are indispensable for the orientation in Düsseldorf (car driver: “Ah, I saw the dragons, I know I am at Volksgarten!”). It can be reached via Tram or S-Bahn, the stop is also named “Düsseldorf Volksgarten”.
Always in summer, the people from Düsseldorf take advantage from this big park. It has many relaxing green spots, and students, families, children, nearly everybody is lying there or doing sports or making barbecue or whatever (perhaps the barbecue is forbidden, but we did it anyway). It also has two or three places for children to play in the water – and not only the children ;)
But last time I was visiting the Volksgarten was not for lying in the sun – it was winter and snow everywhere. I wanted to take some pictures with the gorgeous lady D. even though I had a very impatient friend with me and it was turning dark (since lady D. is here it is always winter and late and the flash is broken – thank you demon lord! – and I think I should change the country and go to a place where I do not have to work and the sun is always shining!).
Anyway the pictures turned out nice and so I would like to share them with you – and as I pass many times in Düsseldorf, be sure to see some summer pictures of the Volksgarten as soon as it is warm enough!!
