Want to go with me to see a movie? I’ll show you my favorite cinema in Ludwigsburg, Germany, called Luna.
The Luna in Ludwigsburg is located in the older part of the town, where the streets are narrow and the buildings are old as well. The cinema is surrounded by small appartment buildings. The building is from the year 1850 and used to be a storage for beer barrels. About 17 meters underneath, there still is the so-called ice cellar. After World War II, the storage room was converted to a cinema. In the 1970’s, the cinema decayed and was finally refurbished in 2000.
I love the round windows and the natural stone that was used to build it. Let’s go inside.
The entrance door is a left-over from the 1950’s or 1960’s. The interior is in vintage style. There is the bar, where you get your tickets and drinks. Before you enter the theater, there is a waiting space with plain comfy sofas. Isn’t it just lovely?
You normally don’t have to wait long, to get into the theater. It rather shows documentaries or movies from festivals.
The theater consists of only one hall, with the well-known cinema chairs. The sound system is up to date. That way, you can enjoy your movie. If you get cold while watching, just go to the front and get a blanket out of the wooden box. Somehow, it got really cold as we were there last time.
I really love this cinema because it’s small, has a vintage look, and familiar atmosphere. The only problem is finding a parking lot. Other than that, I really recommend going there. You’ll love it.
