The 10 Golden Rules by Euro Team 3

The 10 Golden Rules of Lomography as interpreted by the Third Lomographic Section for Analogue Intelligence and Progressive Creativity, or Euro Team 3 for short…

The 10 Golden Rules is the very essence of Lomography. At the beginning of The Great LC-A Race we decided that each participant in Euro Team 3 would shoot a set of pictures with the LC-A to illustrate these rules. One rule per team member, chronologically…

Mister Flinky – Team Mascot

Rule #1 – Take your camera everywhere you go.
Anarchy was first in line for the race. He took the camera on a tour through Europe. Launching from Sweden over to his neighbors in Denmark. A quick stop in Berlin (Germany) and then forward to Czech Rep., Austria, Hungary and Serbia. On the way home he visited team member mephisto19 to pass on all the race supplies and of course the adorable Mr. Flinky. Anarchy won the first Stage mission, a competion during the race where each team has to shoot photos on a certain given theme.

anarchy – Rule #1

Rule #2 – Use it any time – day and night.
For this rule mephisto19 painted some really large backgrounds to visualize the theme of day and night. A friend was nice enough to pose as model for him.

mephisto19 – Rule #2

Rule #3 – Lomography is not an interference in your life, but part of it.
Next up in the series was yoscolmi who recieved the race supplies personally from mephisto19. One of yoscolmi’s lomolocations was elected winner for stage 3.

yoscolmi – Rule #3

Rule #4 – Try the shot from the hip.
This rule was in the hands of Swedish lomographer “makeyuu”:http://www.lomography.com/homes/makeyuu who took Mr. Flinky down into the dark caves of the Stockholm metro.

makeyuu – Rule #4

Rule #5 – Approach the objects of your Lomographic desire as close as possible.
noiway visualized the theme of getting as close as possible by shooting the following series.

noiway – Rule #5

Rule #6 – Don’t think. (William Firebrace)
It’s not always easy to not think but zekiyeayse managed to produce a set of great photos on the theme, and she also brough us our third trophy in the form of a Stage 6 lomolocation award.

zekiyeayse – Rule #6

Rule #7 – Be fast.
Some special fitness was required for this rule but that didn’t scare our team mate libicocco who took these shots (the first shot being a double with zekiyeayse).

libicocco – Rule #7

Rule #8 – You don’t have to know beforehand what you captured on film.
From Sweden the camera travelled to Norway and “iggipoo”: http://www.lomography.com/homes/iggipoo who contributed with this set of photos.

“iggipoo”: http://www.lomography.com/homes/iggipoo who contributed with this set of photos. – Rule #8

Rule #9 – Afterwards either.
Next rule belonged to dogma who also brought us our fourth team win with his lomolocation Poetry Park for Stage 9.

dogma – Rule #9

Rule #10 – Don’t worry about any rules.
Last but not least "mantozauras”:http://www.lomography.com/homes/mantozauras could do whatever he wanted for the 10th rule, don’t worry about any rules!

“mantozauras”:http://www.lomography.com/homes/mantozauras – Rule #10

We hope you’ll enjoy this project as much as we do and if you want more, please check out our series of “Chain of Doubles” posts in the magazine and don’t forget to stop by the Team Home as well as all the team member’s lomohomes…

    A Color Remix

It's human nature to be restless and imaginative. The real may be interpreted as what one sees or how one sees something. For the daydreamer, a scene from nature transforms into a canvas. Suddenly a field makes room for chemical coloring, all those anachronistic streaks that somehow look right. Or else, those beautiful colors amplified or subdued to their most pictorial shades. All in the world of trial-and-process film photography.

Lomo In-Depth: The Defining Role of Women Photographers in Art History

It is general knowledge that history—ruled and written by austere patriarchy—has not been so kind to women. Photography is one of the rare exceptions; womankind has set its pervading presence and participation in photography since the birth of the camera in the 1800's. Lomography traces the role of women in photography with a special, comprehensive summary for International Women's Day.
