We’ve seen many long exposure shots, but many of them are as striking as this one.
Our Photo of the Day is a winner on several counts: the composition which makes use of lines and hues to draw your eyes towards one direction; the perfectly executed long exposure which captures light and movement and renders them beautifully; and a vintage-futuristic (think Back to the Future movies of the 80s) feel that gives it standout character. It was taken by *hanifmaidin* using a Nikon FM2 camera loaded with Kodak Ektachrome EL film.
Congratulations to hanifmaidin for being our POTD winner!
We love a striking photo as much as the next person, but a unique point of view makes us head straight to a feature. Who should the world know more about? Who has rocked our perception of beauty, sexuality and creativity? These questions populate our notepads, and our list of photographers is quite long. For International Women's Day 2016, we whittle the directory down to our current favorites, photographers who resist labels (even the ones we give them) and dare the world to see what they see.
Are you wondering what the best photograph on a specific day of 2016 was? Tune in on this special recap where we'll track the daily image that captured the community's attention last year. November was dominated by two extremes: moody monochromes and photographs drenched in striking colors.
