2013-01-06 2

We recently partnered with GrabCAD to give bright young minds a chance to win some Lomography goodies by conceptualizing some Konstruktor ideas. Here are the finalists!

GrabCAD, one of the leaders in the Open Engineering movement, recently partnered with us for the Lomography Camera Accessory Challenge, where the brightest CAD whiz-kids submit their best conceptual designs for the Konstrukotr.

There were plenty of intelligently designed accessories for the three categories of the contest (Lens, Grip, and Holder), but these particular ones made it as the finalists. Great job, everyone!

Lens Cap + Bokeh Filter + Pinhole by al dean

It’s almost heinous why this isn’t a thing yet. A lens cap that doubles as a pinhole and bokeh filter is a perfect accesory to suit your ever changing photographic moods.

Lomography DIY filter kit by Ashleigh Adams

Filters are a mainstay in many a photographer’s arsenal and it is only right that the Konstruktor get some filter love as well.

Lomography Konstruktor Pinhole Lens Cap by Alan

This pinhole design introduces overlapping tabs via a lever so that you can change the aperture as you please. Sure to be fun to use!

Lens cap by Alexandria

We cannot put it in better words than Alexandria herself: “Looks easy, bright, unique. Sense of the idea: do not lose the lens cap, I mean, it remain on the lens”.

Lense cap by Dimitar

Interesting take for those that like a little lens cap surprise!

Film Pack Rack by Tommy Mueller

No need to fumble around for film with this bad boy, as it will let you store up to 4 rolls of film at the base of your camera!

On-Hand Grip for Konstruktor by Chuma A

Having a camera to wear around like a watch, which would add support for long-ish exposures is a nice idea that’s worthy of exploring.

The grip for the Konstruktor by Branko Stokuca

This design looks exquisite and extremely professional. Blurred photos will be a thing of the past with this accessory’s added stability.

Konstruktor grip by Andy Nicholson

This is another impeccably designed accessory for the Konstruktor, offering 2 grips for 2 hands, making each shot stable as a rock.

Simple single piece grip by Hari prasath

This design blew us away, as it’s something we’ve never seen before. Adding stability with the help of the wrist seems such a natural thing for a camera to have!

Grip for Konstruktor by Konrad Jakubiak

No more dropping your camera again with this comfortable grip accessory. That’s always a plus! And there is still a good sense of style, too.

Konstruktor attachment range by Brendan O'Connell

If you ever find yourself wanting to do a LomoMatrix style shoot by yourself, then this design is for you, as it combines clamps for secure side-by-side shooting and a remote that will trigger everything at the same time.

3D photo rig concept1 by Jonathan

Shooting stereograms or 3D images with a Konstruktor will be a breeze with this rig, as it features a clever arm system that allows you to trigger both cameras simultaneously.

Lomography 3d holder by sam

Simple, but straight to the point. This no frills design is all about functionality and getting the job done.

Photo 3D - Lomography by Kevin

This design creates a different approach in shooting stereo images but you would need to manually trigger both cameras, though.

LomoHolder by Imprenta3D

Shooting 3D images are usually 2 cameras side by side or one on top of the other. This particular accessory gives you the best of both worlds!

Congratulations to all the finalists! Stay tuned for the grand winners.
