Photo of the Day by bnjmn

Who would have thought a two pairs of footwear would make such a cool photo?

Congratulations to *bnjmn* for making the ordinary seem extraordinary with this shot, and winning our Photo of the Day! Our community member from Berlin, Germany took the winning photo using a *Lomo LC-Wide* loaded with *Lomography Color X-Pro Sunset Strip 100 35mm* film.

The photo was presumably taken during one of his trips to the Baltic. The caption says ‘Ausflug zur Ostsee ‘ which translates to trip to the Baltic in English. Go figure.

You’ll find more of bnjmn’s gorgeous photos in his Lomo Home.

Klara Johanna Michel's Ethereal Visions as Captured by the Lomo'Instant Wide

Influenced by the work of Caravaggio, Berlin-based photographer Klara Johanna Michel hand-painted photographs are reminiscent of Renaissance art. The images are highly stylized and the subjects are posed to mimic the appearance of religious beings. Who would have thought that such mystery and old world charm could similarly be achieved with the help of an instant camera?

Estonian Intersections of Sight and Sound

Would you rather lose your vision or your hearing? As photographers, we might choose the latter without a second thought, especially while viewing the festival photos that photographer Mart Vares captured with the New Petzval 85 Lens. Still, who doesn’t love the pleasant mechanical shutter sound of an old SLR that makes us commit to analog photography? While following the Nordic delegation at this years Waves Central Europe, we caught up with the Estonian band, Würffel, whose songs leave us feeling equally delighted.

    Photographic Pairs

When a photographer encounters a pair, an instinct rushes in, "Is this a special, intimate moment I just stumbled on?" Or else, those accidents of two objects, two birds, two swaying plants camping together especially for your photo. This might not be the case, but it's still a pleasant thing for patterns and quirks to find their way into an everyday shot.

Inspiring and Daring Women in Contemporary Photography (Part I)

We love a striking photo as much as the next person, but a unique point of view makes us head straight to a feature. Who should the world know more about? Who has rocked our perception of beauty, sexuality and creativity? These questions populate our notepads, and our list of photographers is quite long. For International Women's Day 2016, we whittle the directory down to our current favorites, photographers who resist labels (even the ones we give them) and dare the world to see what they see.
