Tropical plants, romantic greenhouses and cute little Japanese carps. This is the place to take your beloved one!
Talvipuutarha (finish for The Winter Garden) is over hundred years old botanic garden, housing over 200 different plants. There is three different greenhouses (the palm room, the western wing and the cactus room) and a Rose Garden in front of the entrance. In addition to the plants, there are some Japanese Carps swimming in the pool. The greenhouses are open for public all year around and the entrance is free. The Rose Garden is in bloom from July until late autumn.
Talvipuutarha is located in the back of Töölönlahti Bay, near Helsinki’s Olympic Stadium. Easiest way to get there is to take a tram from Lasipalatsi to Ooppera, and then simply by walking.
Special tip: Talvipuutarha is a great place to have a date!

By far the oddest-looking camera I own, the Electric Eye is an auto-exposure viewfinder camera made by Bell & Howell in the late 1950s. I picked one up online and ended up with another one, that came with a very cool, retro looking carrying case, from my grandfather. It took a little while to try these two out but after running some film I found that this camera is a lot of fun to shoot with.
