Photo of the Day by shariff

Black-and-white photos are timeless, but sometimes tricky to compose. There are no colors, no bright hues to enliven the image. Our Photo of the Day does pretty well, sans the kaleidoscope.

Our Photo of the Day was taken by Singapore-based Lomographer *shariff* using a *Lomo LC-A+* loaded with Ilford XP2 Film. The shot defies all convention: no rules on foreground, no rule of thirds, and no golden ratio. It does adhere to the 10th Golden Rule of Lomography, however: Don’t worry about any rules.

Nevertheless, this black-and-white unconventional composition is one fine photograph. Congratulations to shariff for being our Photo of the Day winner.
