New York-based artist Tara McPherson has been creating art in different mediums for over a decade. If you’re a fan, you’ve probably seen them all—-paintings, posters, toys, prints, illustrations for magazines, and all sorts of merchandise clad in her designs. You might have had the opportunity to go to one of her exhibits and ask for her autograph, while gushing with adoration and marveling at her talent.
Just recently, we released the Diana Mini Double Rainbow by Tara McPherson. The pink and turquoise beauty features Tara’s signature ‘Quiet Girl’ character on its body, and is a lovely combination of rock ‘n’ roll edge and candy-colored fantasies.
You can find the same ‘Quiet Girl’ design on Tara’s Franz Ferdinand Paris 2013 gig poster, which she gave away to the first 20 patrons of the Diana Mini Double Rainbow during last week’s signing event at Lomography NYC. The Franz Ferdinand poster is only one of the many gig posters that Tara has created, and here are some of them.
Each poster evokes Tara’s signature style, yet imposes a personality of its own. The ethereal beings in her creations are a testament to the magnanimity of her imagination, an imagination that allows her to create an alternate universe with every illustration.
