Living Legend Douglas Kirkland on Photography: A Life in Pictures

2013-11-04

Being a photographer for more than 50 years, Douglas Kirkland is undoubtedly a living legend. For the first time, Kirkland has assembled a collection of his finest work in a new book called A Life in Pictures. Watch a shot documentary regarding one of the finest photographers alive after the jump!

It’s ridiculous to imagine just how long Douglas Kirkland has been shooting. Over the course of the 50 years he has been shooting, he’s seen the rise and fall of analogue photography, and witnessed revolutions, both figuratively and literally.

In this documentary, he gives great detail on how he first got started with photography, including the first ever camera that he laid his eyes and hands on. Incredibly enlightening and downright inspiring, this video is just a tip of the iceberg in Kirkland’s long and illustrious career. Check it out!
