Ultra-Rare Leica Luxus 1 up for Auction

2013-10-10 1

Another rare camera has surfaced for those hardcore collectors out there: the extremely rare Leica Luxus 1!

Photo from Pop Photo

Leica cameras possess a pedigree that is unmatched. So when rare specimens pop up, collectors froth at the mouth to get a chance to own one. This particular piece being auctioned off by Bonhams is quite rare indeed, with only 95 units ever made over a production run spanning just 1929 to 1930.

Get ready to open up your wallet as you’ll be expecting to pay around a million Dollars for this! The auction will start on November 22, which also includes much more affordable but still pretty expensive limited edition Leicas. Good luck!

In 2001, another upper-case name sealed the country’s reputation for pristine land. "The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring" became an accidental advertisement for the green wonders of New Zealand.

Lomography traces the role of women in photography with a special, comprehensive summary for International Women's Day.
