Workshops & Events

First Thursdays October 3rd from 6-9pm @ EAST
IT IS WHAT IT IS by Cachetejack

Lomography UK’s October exhibition will be featuring work by Cachetejack. Cachetejack are Nuria Bellver and Raquel Fanjul, a Spanish illustration duo who have recently moved to London. They combine drawings, wood sculptures and fabric to create playful and humorous illustrations. Past clients include Anorak magazine, Don’t Panic and Computer Arts magazine.
Join us for the private view of this exhibition on 3rd October as part of the First Thursdays event run by the Whitechapel Gallery. Recorderlig will be supplying the drinks so do come down and enjoy the evening with us. The exhibition runs from 3rd-31st September. All welcome!

Saturday 5th October from 1pm @ EASTLONDON COCKTAIL WEEK with the La Sardina
Do you have the stamina for cocktails all week? You better be on the 7th-13th of October! We thought we’d do something a bit different for this workshop – we’ll kit you out with the special London Cocktail Week wristband which allows you to have cocktails for only £4 across 150 bars and pubs PLUS a La Sardina and Flash camera so you can document your nights out with friends the good old fashioned way (whilst sipping an Old Fashioned of course!). Pop in store to learn about the camera and you get to borrow it the whole week, film included.
Tickets are £15 and include the price of the wristband (£10), a La Sardina and flash camera loan for a whole week plus a roll of film. Limited to 10 participants only. Please ring 02074260999 to book a place before Friday the 4th of October.

Saturday 12th October: Take your pick from two workshops happening today!
Lomography x BFI Kino Workshop @ BFI Southbank from 12pm
If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to make a movie on film, this is the workshop for you! Join us at the BFI London for a great afternoon covering everything you need to know about our favorite Kino camera. Starting at the BFI we’ll show you all the LomoKino tricks then we’ll take you to the nearby Southbank to film one of the most iconic areas in London.
Tickets are £35 and include lend-a-Kino camera (shared by every 2 participants), 2 rolls of film for each participant and processing. FREE tea and coffee will be provided. Please click here to book your tickets in advance.

World Zombie Day with the LC-A @ SOHO from 1pm
World Zombie Day is an international annual event that grew from Pittsburgh’s first Zombie Walk and sight of famous film Dawn of the Dead. Now the living dead are hitting the streets of London and coming together in an international effort to relieve hunger and homelessness. We have missed this event three years in a row but not this year! Come and shoot the LC-A+ and capture the scary scenes that unfold on our streets. It’s sure to be an amazing afternoon.
This walk is £10 and includes lend-a-camera LC-A+, a roll of colour film and discounts on film processing. Limited to 8 participants only. Ring 02074341466 to book a place.

Saturday 19th October from 1pm @ SOHO – A Wander through Highgate Cemetery with Belair 6×12
Nothing spells Halloween more than a creepy crawl through an old mossy cemetery so this is exactly what we’ll do! Play with shutter speeds and apertures and if you’re lucky you may even spot a friendly ghost. Boo! The Belair also turns 1 so it’s the best time to test out this camera.
This walk is £15 and includes entrance fee into Highgate, lend-a-camera Belair 6×12 a roll of 120 colour film and discounts on film processing. Please come prepared with an oyster card/bus pass as we will need to use public transportation. Limited to 5 participants only. Ring 0207426099 to book a place.

Thursday 24th October from 6pm @ SOHO – The Grow your Mo Project
Calling all brave men out there ready to take part in this year’s hairiest challenge! Grow your Mo for Movember! We are going to kit you out with a La Sardina camera and a roll of film and all you need to do is supply a face with growing facial hair every day for each day in November. One camera, one shot, 31 days and hopefully a nice tidy mustache to show by the end of it! We will feature all participants in our online magazine so you can proudly show off all your hard work. ;)
This project is FREE and includes a lend a camera La Sardina, a crash course on the camera, a roll of colour film and processing on the film. All you need to supply is a growing mo! First come, first served basis and limited to ten participants. Please ring 02074341466 to reserve a place.

Saturday 26th October from 1pm @ SOHO – Seeing Purple with the Lubitel 166+
It’s been a while since we had a workshop with the Lubitel and since we have very limited stock of the 120 “Lomochrome Purple film”:, we thought we could marry the two. They work so well together so now is your chance to test them both out. We’ll have a wander down to Hyde Park and shoot the autumnal scenes and see what lovely tones we get form the film.
This walk is £20 and includes lend-a-camera Lubitel 166+, a roll of 120 limited Purple chrome film and discounts on film processing. Please come prepared with an oyster card/bus pass as we may need to use public transportation. Limited to 5 participants only. Ring 0207426099 to book a place.
