Inspired by the wave of concept store, the “lifestore” (“store life” and small & large needs) is a unique place in the landscape of the local trade. Combining a brewery, shop, gallery, library, and barbershop, there is something for everyone to find at Oogie! We interviewed one of their staff, so read on if you’re curious about the answers!
Which one is your favourite Lomography camera and why?
Our favorite camera is the Diana F+ because this is the basis. There are many accessories and colors available with this model. Its vintage design and large range of possibilities completely convinced us. Each of our team member owns one!
What’s the weirdest Lomographic moment you’ve ever had?
A woman from an advance age came to the shop to buy a camera for her grandson. She wanted to buy him a birthday present. She asked several questions and I introduced her to the cameras. She finally picked up the Fisheye 2 Black. Some days later, she came back and said that she finally kept the camera for herself and she tried it already!
My advice convinced her! She gave me an envelope of pictures asking if the effect on the pictures were a normal result, she wouldn’t understand the round shape that was misrepresenting the image. I looked at the pictures and realized those were quite intimate photos!
I never understood what really convinced her to buy the camera, all I know is that I was quite embarrassed looking through the pictures!
*What is the nerdiest question you’ve ever been asked in your shop?
A young guy came to see us because he was preparing a paper about Lomography for his photography studies. He asked us all possible question: year that each model was made, effects and colors available for each model, production, why, how, etc… At least, we mastered all Lomography topics !
Where is the best place to shoot some Lomographic masterpieces in your city?
There are several interesting spots: Le Cours Julien, for its energy and its colorful walls; Le Bowl in the Prado beaches to catch some acrobatic moves; La Friche to dive deep into Street Art; Notre Dame de La Garde pour its panoramic view; Les Docks for architecture, and Le Panier area for history. It’s impossible to pick only one option !
