Rewind: The Diana World Tour

In the spirit of the Lomography Diana F+’s 6th birthday, let’s take a trip down memory lane and relive the awesome journey that is the Diana World Tour. Read more after the cut!

It’s been six years since Lomography launched its recreation of the famous 1960s plastic camera, the Diana, and four years since the start of the Diana World Tour. Oh how time flies!

But wait a minute, what’s the Diana World Tour exactly? New community members would, of course know about the Diana F+, but how about this fantastic travelling exhibition?

In a nutshell, the Diana World Tour is a travelling exhibition that celebrates the legacy of the Diana camera, the 1960s cult classic camera known for its ability to capture deliciously lo-fi photos. The exhibition includes the following:

  • The Detrich Collection: an incredible collection of Diana cameras and clones straight from the 60s and 70s acquired by Lomography in the Spring of 2007 and named after Allan Detrich, the man who painstakingly collected them over the years.
  • The DWT Global Vignettes Collection: a great collection of Diana images taken by passionate Diana enthusiasts around the world.
  • The Customized Clones Exhibition: a collection of Diana cameras especially customized by a selected group of artists, illustrators, creatives and Lomofriends from the host city and the surrounding areas.

The Diana World Tour kickstarted in Hong Kong, and has since travelled to Tokyo, Seoul, Porto, Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin, Paris, Milan, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Taipei, New York City, Los Angeles, San Franciso, Riga, London, Toronto, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, and then finally ending its journey in Austin.

Now, don’t be so disappointed if your city wasn’t part of the tour because who knows? We might be able to see these dreamers on the road again.

But for now, let’s keep calm and Lomo on!

The Diana F+ is a new twist on the ‘60s classic cult camera. Famous for its dreamy and soft-focused images, the Diana F+ is now packed with extra features such as panorama and pinhole capabilities. Available in our Online Shop.
