Since it’s Throwback Thursday today, why not take the opportunity and reminisce of the good old days? And since we’re warming up the coming LC-Wide Race, then we would love to tell you the story of how it all began!
Around four years ago, we had The Great LC-A Race, a worldwide analogue race between 10 teams of 10 Lomographers. The idea sounded like a riot knowing how many Lomographers have to pass that classic analogue camera around the world. But hey, it was a fun and glorious one!
And really, who’s the mind behind this idea? Well ladies and gentlemen, we have got to give credit to LomoHome mattcharnock for pitching in this project which the Lomography Staff liked and made come true!
“A race that involves writing, shipping, and of course a series of Lomography quizzes and pictorials done throughout a period of time” was the gist of the LC-A Race. And with the help and support of this Community, it was a great success!
Now it’s time for the LC-Wide to take its spotlight and have its own competition! Just a few jumps and we’re almost there, fellas! In the meantime, see these articles we’ve prepared for you. Ciao! :)
Lorenzo Scudiero is a 20-year-old photographer, born and raised in the beautiful Italian mountains. Lorenzo began his photographic journey a few years ago, when he started capturing his friends and telling their stories, all surrounded by the breathtaking natural landscape of the place he lives in. We let him use the Neptune Convertible Art Lens system and he delivered stunning results.
Today, we gain altitude with Ben Nardini, director of photography and pilot of drone for Almo film production. Passionate about image, whether static or moving, Ben meets the LC-Wide in the LGS in New York. He is taking this little analogue camera everywhere ever since, even when the good fellow leaves for Alaska. Let's go for a special meeting "from the top"!
People love competitions and Lomographers are no different. But more than a search for standout photographs, the TEN AND ONE Annual Competition celebrated the community's shared love for photography and its power to create enduring stories. This list by no means set a conclusive standard on what makes an image good or not. But nonetheless, we're proud to introduce the photographs that took the top spot in the Instant category.

"Dreamy, pastel, and girl oriented" is how 20-year-old photographer Chloe Sheppard describes her work. And she does it really well: one look at her film photographs and you're instantly transported to the charming, rebellious, and softly-colored world of fleeting girlhood.
Solène Ballesta is a Parisian photographer who started photography at 15 years old. This talented photographer was awarded in 2014 by the special mention of the young fashion photography Picto Awards. In her shots, Solène drives us to an enchanted world. For this series, she used the Daguerreotype Achromat Art Lens and she's telling us the story of a woman who is waiting for someone or something in her small theater and who decides to venture to the morning mist. “It is the uncertainty that charms one. A mist makes things wonderful.” said Oscar Wilde.
In this ongoing series, Alienmeatsack explores the ins and outs of beloved Lomography cameras and offers his expert advice on how to make the most of them. In this article, we're diving into developing, learning that the magic and mystery of the process is really just supplies, chemistry, and time.
