Picturing Happiness: Sunrise at My Window

The ‘golden hour’ as they call it, is the first and last hours of the day. We photography enthusiasts are very fond of this, we sure love that very moment when the sun is close to the horizon, whether it be sunrise or sunset. This is our happiness.

Do you have a favorite spot in your home where you never get tired of taking photo of the view? Fortunately for me, I have this window at my room where I could watch the sun as it floats up slowly and gracefully into the sky.

I am a morning person, I don’t know why but my body is automatically woken up at dawn usually 5:30 – 6:00 a.m. The time of day when the sun isn’t usually up yet, and all you can hear are people sweeping the streets, yes that’s how a usual morning in the Philippines is.

During summer season (March to May) are the most colorful sunrises I see at my window, usually of color pink fading to purple and blue. Seeing those kinds of mornings certainly starts my day great.

On cloudy days I almost thought that sunrise is nothing special, but I was wrong. The sunrise will usually give you a sky with a vivid blue tint and yellow sun glows garnished with very dark contrast clouds.

One of the favorite things I usually do in this kind of view is the topsy-turvy or upside down shot. Whether it be in my Lomo LC-A+ or on my Polaroid Land Camera 340, it never fails to give awesome results.

If there is one thing that I would want to change in this view, is to remove the electricity lines, otherwise it is something I would call perfect.
