Just last week, the world caught a first glimpse of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s first born, George Alexander Louis. And today, we again regard the British Royals but in retrospect, as we remember the fairytale wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Spencer, later know as Diana, Princess of Wales.
The so-called fairytale wedding took place on July 29, 1981 at St. Paul’s Cathedral, London. It was touted as the wedding of the century, with an estimated global television viewership of over 750 million.
There were 3,500 people at St. Paul’s Cathedral that day. The ceremony was presided over by the Most Reverend Robert Runcie, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and the Very Reverend Alan Webster, the Dean of St. Paul’s Cathedral, in a Church of England wedding service.
Diana was every inch a princess in her wedding gown, charmed by a real prince!
