Wilt Chamberlain, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Andre the Giant on the Set of Conan the Destroyer

I doubt anybody in the set could stand next to these guys and not feel very small.

Conan the Destroyer is an 1984 American adventure film directed by Richard Fleischer and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the titular Conan. Wilt Chamberlain and Andre the Giant played the villains Bombaata and the horned giant god, Dagoth, respectively.

While they seem like your average men in this photo, let us be reminded that the shortest in this trio, Schwarzenegger, stands at about 6 ft. 2 in. Chamberlain’s listed height is 7 ft. 1 in. while Andre the Giant is billed to be about 7 ft. 5 in.

I dunno about you guys, but at a personal height of 5 ft. 4 in., I’m feeling pretty puny.

How to Develop Photos on Stone in a Darkroom

I have always loved the idea of seeing my photos on stone and other natural materials. So, a few months ago, I began googling how it could be done. This is how I discovered (and fell in love with) liquid emulsion. Liquid emulsion is photographic emulsion which you can melt down and paint on any surface. You can then expose an image and develop it using traditional darkroom chemicals. In this article, I would like to explain the process a little, so that if you are also interested in giving this fun process a go, you can!

Lomographer and Multiple Exposure Expert Hodaka Yamamoto on Creativity

The name Hodachrome is one of the most popular in the Lomography community. It has become synonymous with the acronym EBS, which stands for exposing both sides of the film. These multiple-exposed photos have an unmistakable style in the vein of ecstatic carnivals and exaggerated dreams. The man behind the vivid shots, Hodaka Yamamoto, talks to us about the habits of a good experimental photographer.

Caleb Savage: Into the Darkroom, Out in the Open

When asked to recall the moment they first became truly interested in photography, most photographers would remember the magical feeling of picking up a hand-me-down or secondhand camera, the thrill of shooting an entire roll through, and the elation upon seeing and holding their first ever set of photographs. Caleb Savage, however, had quite a unique experience. At 10 years old, he had his first taste of working in the darkroom making prints at Boy Scout camp, thereby beginning a more than a decade-long affinity with photography.

Long Exposures Around Europe with the Minitar-1 Art Lens

One of the things I like the most about the Minitar-1 Art lens is how sharp the focus can be when you shoot with a small aperture. So if you are one of those that like to shoot at night, get a tripod, add this to a late dark winter afternoon, and you will end up with a bunch of beautiful long exposures. This is what I did on my last trip to Europe.
