Now that school’s out and summer’s here, we can bet that a lot of people are getting severe cases of wanderlust – something a quick road trip can’t fix! So if you’re keen on hitting the road, here are some of the world’s most scenic drives according to to fuel you up for the adventure.

The Amalfi Coast, Italy

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, the Amalfi Coast off in the Sorrentine Peninsula in Salerno, Italy provides a scenic seaside albeit a narrow and long-winding route that is both relaxing and awe-inspiring.

And also, since the region is known for its lemons, don’t forget to stop by a bar and have a taste of their Limoncello (lemon liqueur)!

The Samariá Gorge, Crete

The Samariá Gorg is a national park located in the southwest part of Crete in Greece. It is a major tourist attraction in the island, measuring about 18 km long (over 8 miles). Its most famous part is the stretch known as the Iron Gates, which at width of 13 feet, is the narrowest part of the gorge.

Great Ocean Road, Australia

The Great Ocean Road is a 243-km stretch of road located along the southeast coast of Victoria, Australia. It is a great tourist attraction in the region as it functions as the world’s largest war memorial – dedicated to the casualties of World War I.
