Undoubtedly the most well-known summer hot spot in the Philippines, Boracay Island is a top beach and relaxation destination. So get your beach bags and swimsuits ready for this week’s Lomography Day Trip!
Boracay Island is located in the northwest tip of Panay Island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. Originally home to the indigenous Ati tribe, the development of the island started around the 1900s, while the tourism aspect came in by the 1970s.
As previously mentioned, Boracay is the top summer destination in the Philippines, so it’s only natural to say that going there with a group of friends is highly recommended!
Even if you and your friends are only there for a day, the island can provide a lot of activities to keep your group occupied. How about a game of Ultimate Frisbee at day time, followed by a great party after the sun sets?
You could also try skimboarding, helmet diving, and other beach-related activities!
The water around the island is home to a diverse selection of aquatic animals, so if you would like to acquaint yourself with them, snorkeling is the way to go!
However, if you are in a mood to hang out in a more secluded and less commercialized beach in Boracay, then you might want to head over to Puka Beach located at the northern tip of the island.
And perhaps, stay and watch the magnificent sun set beyond the horizon?
