If I had to show you what is my favorite place for a summer holiday, I would have no doubt: it’s the Island of Djerba, in Tunisia. Take a look!
My vacation on the island of Djerba started here, where I arrived after a short flight from Italy.
The sign indicates the entrance of the resort where I stayed for a couple of weeks, while on the right you can see the dirt track dedicated to tourists who want to reach the lagoon by camel or horse. And while we are at it, let me tell you that you can also ride on the shore of the beautiful fine sand beach!
And for people like me who are allergic to animal fur, you can have fun with a beach volley game as an alternative!
The beach is wide and well maintained, ideal for walking, sunbathing or for a swim. It is a joy to be swung by the waves while lying on a mat! The waters aren’t too deep and the beach is safe, even for children.
The color of the sea is simply fantastic, it invites you to take a dip!
Here in Djerba there is always a bit of breeze that saves you from the summer heat, and ensures that you can have fun with kites or parachute!
Just outside the resort, you can find on the public beach some sellers of nice jars and pottery produced locally in the town of Guellala.
I love to jog on the shore! I love these simple ways to have fun. I do not love the nightlife and even nightclubs or disco. I love the long summer days and I prefer to have fun outdoors during the daytime.
Just before sunset, don’t forget to take some nice pictures on the beach!
Few kilometers from here there is the small town of Midun, where you can find local restaurants and many shopping centers. You can buy T-shirts, jeans and other locally produced clothing for very competitive prices! You can reach Midun with a taxi, the cost of a ride is very cheap here!
All these photos were taken with my trusty Lomo LC-A.
