Full Name: Hannes Volkmer

Tell us something about yourself.
I am a plumber and I work as a facility manager in a small hospital. I love music and film photography (surprise! surprise!). My daily activities are: working, taking a walk with the dog, taking pictures, developing and scanning films, and rehearsing with one of the two bands I make music with.

How did you find your Konstruktor experience?
First of all it was great to work with a Lomography camera that gives you full control in focusing and framing. I guess that’s why we all love SLR cameras. The camera is very light and the waist level finder works well. The pictures which came out without overlapping are great!

What do you like best about the Konstruktor?
The waist level finder! I love the view inside the finder on the focusing screen. When you have enough time to focus, the magnifying lens is a great tool.

Share a funny or strange story while using/building the Konstruktor the camera.
When I was in Oberhausen for a Lomo meeting, I was taking some pictures at a train station. I was in action and I noticed an older couple standing next to me. I looked up and the man said, “Oh wow, a waist level camera!” So I got in a conversation with them a we spoke a few minutes about film photography and I took a picture of them. Sadly, the film was ripped when I was winding it back so I have no picture from the couple to show you.

Any tips for the future Konstruktor user?
Be careful when winding the film back, and turn the film transport wheel slowly!
