Hey guys! First of all I want to thank Lomography for the opportunity and sponsoring my next LomoKino short film! My team and I are very much looking forward to seeing the finished product. I’m going to give you a little verbal sneak peek of what will be going down.
The film is called “Lo que me quedo” which is spanish for “I’ll Never Say”. As most LomoKino films it will be silent, except for the introduction and the ending which will have voice overs in Spanish, (I’ll include english subtitles so everyone can understand).
It tells the story of man (Diego) who has been deeply in love with his best friend (Isabela) for as long as he can remember. Unfortunately, he never had the courage to speak up and let her know how he felt, and now it might be a little too late. The film will take you through the different stages of Diego and Isabela’s friendship, showing you that since they were merely little kids, they had always been very attached to one and other, and the key moments as they were growing up when Diego (and maybe Isabela) could’ve developed feelings of being in love.
Here’s the first page of the script, just to give you an insider’s look:
That’s about as much as I can tell you on the story because I wouldn’t want to give it all away now, would I?
The cast consists of 7 actors. 3 stages of Isabela, 3 stages of Diego, and Isabela’s current adult boyfriend, so I will be working with pairs of little kids, young adults, and adults. There will be a few different sceneries, some of which include an old house, the beach, a park, a coffee shop, and probably some sand dunes.
Aside from that, I’ll be making the music for the film, based on a track I had produced which inspired the script, which is actually based on real events. You can listen to the song here.
I’m very excited to start filming. We have scheduled to film during May, and I hope to have the film ready by June at the latest. I hope you guys are as excited as I am!
Stay tuned for Reneg88 next updates!
