What an awesome Lomo LC-A anniversary year 2009 has been and it’s not over yet! As a special community treat we have an awesome line up of interviews day after day until the big one. Now we’d like to introduce you to tracyvmoore who has been exploring the world with a Lomo LC-A+ in hand.

1. When did you get your first LC-A or LC-A+?

I think I got my first LCA in 1997….but my memory is fuzzy…so it could be give or take a year. Bought an LCA + when they first came out. Love them both. ;)

2. Tell us your greatest Lomographic experience with your LC-A or LC-A+ camera?

Hands down, my greatest experience with my LCA was going to Hollywood to shoot a band who’s lead singer was VERY into lomo and wanted a lomographer to shoot them in action. When I arrived, I was told that the show had been cancelled, so we wouldn’t be shooting the concert, but instead I would get to shoot the lead singer on the roof of the iconic Capital Record building. I chased her all over the roof of that building and had a blast. After that, I pulled an all nighter with a different band who was fascinated by the LCA and we hit bar after bar and kept passing the camera around to different band members who wanted to try it out. I got some very fun shots that night.

3. Which of the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography most applies to your shooting style and why?

Take your camera everywhere you go. This rule is king in my world. I take my journal, and my LCA everywhere I go. Since I don’t set out to take particular shots…or set up shoots…I completely rely on the randomness of shots hopping in front of me. If I didnt have my LCA on me at all times…I simply would never capture anything.

4. How would your life be different if you’d never discovered the LC-A or LC-A+?

I would have forever been one of those people who wished he could be a photographer…but just never got around to immersing myslelf in that “complicated” world. Because of the LCA and its ease of use…I have become obsessed with capturing everything around me. Now, I have travelled because of my lomography, had shows, taught classes, and met the absolute coolest people from all over the world, all because of the LCA.

5. Here’s the scene: your somewhere in the world with your LC-A+, a sack of your favorite film, and your best friend in the whole world… where are you and why?

We are walking the streets of Barcelona. Walking together and marvelling at the sights, sounds, and smells around us. We are there because I have never been there before, and both my wife and I want to explore this city. We want to soak in everything like sponges. We would sit at cafe’s and sketch…and walk the city and capture broad sweeping views, as well as take close-ups of every fascinating detail. I visited northern Spain a few years ago and fell in love with the country. The people were amazing. Friendly, warm, and happy. I have always wanted to get to Barcelona…and after attending the Lomo World Congress in London in 2007, I met a couple of amazing Lomographers from southern Spain and they made me want to visit this part of the world even more.

6. What advice would you give someone who is thinking about getting an LC-A+ and not sure?

Best investment I have ever made. It will change your life if you let it. Just remember the camera doesn’t work wonders if it sits at home. Take it with you ALWAYS and let it do its magic. You will not be disappointed.

I met the amazing artist Tracy Moore in Cleveland Ohio in the mid 90's...He is one of Lomography's original ambassadors...he encouraged me to join the social network of lomography way back than. I had looked at lomography from a distance for a few years...My best friend John Hilgert was in Vienna in the mid 90's and had talked about this LCA phenom, and it's cult like fallowing....(he could have gotten me one for about 95 dollars while there). Any way.... Tracy had an LCA and was putting it to good use in his travels around the country while participating in many art shows. He was spreading the good word and vibe of lomography in the mid 90's.
