As I woke up in the morning of 12 April 2013, one thing was on my mind: Film Photography Day! I had already set up a meet up with several Bandung lomographers and I was glad that seven lomographers came. Film Photography Day is a celebration of using film, so why not go out or have an outing with friends? Here’s our little celebration of Film Photography Day in Bandung! Haloo Haloo Bandung!
Friday morning seemed so cloudy and there was no sunshine so I was pretty damn pessimistic about the weather. I kept calm as my lomofriends came to the meet up and there were five lomographers, including me, ready to walk and shoot!
We walked through the streets of Bandung and I realized that it was the Bandung that I’ve known for years — there were so many trees, and the wind was cool. It was so refreshing!
As we walked through the green areas in Bandung, lucky for us, the sun came up and went shining on us! I think the universe wanted us to celebrate Film Photography Day!
Oh yeah, I forgot to introduce my lomofriends: the first photo is me Adi, the second one is Taufik, there’s Epin, then Anggia and Arief. We walked until we reached a nice little park called Cibeunying Park. My dear lomofriend came, it was the one and only Yoga.
In Cibeunying Park, we sat down and talked about analogue photography in general. I don’t really remember what we really talked about but one thing that I remember is that I laughed a lot and I really don’t know why. Maybe because I was surrounded by good lomofriends and it’s always fun to have them around. Good times!
After an hour or so in Cibeunying Park, we decided to continue our mini yet fun lomowalk to Cihapit. There were so many flowers, so why not shoot them and double it with self portraits? So, call me Flower Boy now! Just kidding!
From the streets of Cihapit, we went to an area that is popularly know as “Istiqamah” because there’s masjid there. Yoga went crazy with his LomoKino and capture our outing, can’t wait to see the result really!
We were in Istiqamah then Alvin came with his bike and joined us! So, there was already seven Bandung lomographers! Fun!
After Friday Day Prayer, we walked down to Saparua field and the sky went dark, but it didn’t lower our fun level of celebrating Film Photography Day, as we snapped everything around us!
We decided to hang out in Saparua field, and to be specific, we sat down in this freestyle bmx area as if we were bmx freestylers! But there’s a group of freestylers there, worth a watch and worth to shoot with your lomo cameras!
Here are some happy LC-A shooters!
We had so much fun that day and I really hope that we Bandung lomographers do this kind of thing often.
That was our Film Photography Day Celebration, how about yours?
Haloo Haloo from Bandung!
