What an awesome Lomo LC-A anniversary year 2009 has been and it’s not over yet! As a special community treat we have got an awesome line up of interviews day after day until the big one. First off the bat is mephisto19 telling us why, “shooting with your LC-A+ is ALWAYS a great experience”
CITY: Lindhorst near Hannover (living), Brunswick (studying)
How long have you been a Lomographer (or are you new to this whole thing?) and when did you get your first LC-A or LC-A+?
I really started with lomography in August 2005. Shortly after starting with lomography I wanted that camera, I somehow needed it. so I survived (don’t ask how!) a year after being infected with the lomography-virus without a lca. now I have several lc-as (if one is occupied or has empty batteries)
Tell us your greatest Lomographic experience with your LC-A or LC-A+ camera?
Shooting with your lc-a is ALWAYS a great experience! I have at least one with me every day, so I can shoot whenever i want whatever I want. I “perfected” my shoot from the hip- style normal peeople do not realize at all I took a picture of them. lomographers of course hear that lovely sound of the clicking lc-a when she is taking a photo.
Which of the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography most applies to your shooting style and why?
Take your camera everywhere you go, cause that is the basic to use all other rules. Only if you have your camera with you you can act fast, shoot from the hip and try to forget these rules :)
If your photos shown here could have a soundtrack of three songs, what would they be? (song title & artist please)
Across the universe (the Beatles), but here in a Rufus Wainwright- version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CN_fCm9z_yA&feature=related
I just love the song, beautiful, creative, wordplaying,….
What a wonderful world , Louis Armstrong http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnRqYMTpXHc
Casta Diva, Maria Callas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBW5a77wINQ
How would your life be different if you’d never discovered the LC-A or LC-A+?
Well…. i think i’d saved lots of money on developing films but i’d never have got the chance of being arts-student or make these funny lomo-projects in my region
Here’s the scene: your somewhere in the world with your LC-A+, a sack of your favorite film, and your best friend in the whole world… where are you and why?
I think I am in my kitchen! I am very rooted to my region, my fridge is full of films and i love to have friends in my house, cook, listen to music, have a bottle of wine or two, shoot and have fun.
What advice would you give someone who is thinking about getting an LC-A+ and not sure?
Just get it! If you have started thinking of getting one, you almost have it! The wish and the need will be so big and rumoring your insides you have to get one sooner or later!
The one person (living or deceased) who you would most like to photograph?
Oh…. God? No, you are not allowed to…. So…. Hmmm…. Maria Callas maybe or some (German) politicians… or…. the guy next door… or… I think I do not have a certain aim!
