We had a wonderful, music-filled Sunday afternoon on March 24th with Rhonda Stakich at the Lomography Gallery Store Toronto! She serenaded us with her sweet acoustic stylings and we, of course, got it all on camera.
The Lomography Gallery Store Toronto was buzzing on Sunday, March 24th, with great help from the wonderfully talented singer-songwriter Rhonda Stakich! Acoustic Sunday was an awesome success! Those who intended on coming in for a quick shop couldn’t help but stay to experience Stakich and her band.
The show featured new music that she recorded for her forthcoming album, recorded at Blue Rodeo’s Woodshed Studio and engineered by the Rheostatic’s, Tim Vessely. At the Lomography show, she was accompanied by Gordon Mowat (Elizabeth Shepherd, Dust Poets) on bass, Neil Hendry (the Distillery, Tim Postgate) on guitar and Tim Shia (The Worst Pop Band Ever, Quique Escamilla) on drums. Yoshiko, an up and coming solo artist from Japan, also gave a wonderful opening to the show.
Rhonda has performed across North America, been featured on Radio and Television, and most recently, was on tour across Canada with the Babes for Breasts – a Breast Cancer fundraising initiative of great Canadian songstresses. In addition to her solo work, Rhonda has recorded/performed with Don Kerr, Chris Tarry, Ben Sures, the Worst Pop Band Ever, LEO37, Brian MacMillan, and Ana Miura.
