This is a Marvelous-March! Aside from participating in the sensational Lomo-Caterpillar event, my dream camera has finally found its way to my side. Impatiently, I loaded it with fresh rolls of film and embarked on a Lomo journey with my brand new LC-A+!
I was so excited while the courier handed me the parcel. I held my breath so I won’t be screaming out loud at 10 PM, and frantically jump into my room to open the parcel. I could not wait to try it out, so immediately, I loaded it with a fresh roll of Fujifilm C200, ready for some shooting. I shared my happiness with my friend in Taiwan through video chat.
“OMG! I received my LC-A+!” I said.
“That’s very nice, but the first person you will shoot would not be me :-(” she replied.
“I will shoot you now!” Then, it turned out:
As I am now currently having my internship, I did not manage to plan for any trip to bring my LC-A+ along to have a romantic shoot-out. In addition to the daily journey to the working place, I took pictures with my colleagues and friends.
My colleagues were excited about the overlapping multi-exposure shots, and bombarded me questions about Lomography. Inadvertently, I shared so much about it, from films, cameras and even history.
As for my friends, some of them have already seen me having a new camera as a norm, so they just ignored me while I was snapping away with my LC-A+.
Last Saturday was the Worldwide Sensational Lomo Caterpillar Event. In Singapore, it was held at the Henderson Wave Bridge, one of the most unique infrastructures in Singapore. Undoubtedly, I participated in the event with a friend. I excitedly loaded the camera with Lomography X-Pro Slide 200, and I knew it could do best, with its classic vignettes and contrast tone. The event was fantastic, we also got to talk to a bunch of Lomo-enthusiasts. I too, had spent quality time with my LC-A+.
To me, analogue day could be any day. The blue-Monday, the TGI-Friday or sluggish-Sunday, as with Lomography, any usual day could be unusual.
_ The new Lomography X-Pro Slide 35mm film is made from the original Agfa RSX 200 emulsion. If you want whacked out colours, huge contrast, and insane saturation, this film is for you. See our selection of Lomography films here._
