I’m very enthusiastic about tigers, especially after watching Life of Pi and visiting the zoo in my hometown of Bandung, Indonesia. Because of dark conditions, good preparation and perfect timing are the key to the success of this cinematic shoot. Check out my La Sardina shots of this rowdy tiger!
A visit to the zoo made me want to watch Life of Pi (2012), the phenomenal fantasy movie by Ang Lee which everyone talked about. The last time I went to the theatre was about 3 or 4 years ago while watching Nicolas Cage’s alien movie!
So I want to share my experience “shooting this movie” after coming from Cihampelas Walk Theatre. I recreated the photos myself using black and white film and my La Sardina!
Wait for the epic moment to snap.
It’s a movie, so calculate the movement of one scene to another.
It’s like shooting other people’s photo!
Concentrate because the movie contains thousands (millions?) of interesting moments.
Prepare something to hold the camera still!
Be sure your camera sound doesn’t annoy other people watching the movie.
Have fun and keep trying!
